Students and Staff of the Month Minimize

Adrian Middle/High School Student and Staff of the Month

The Student/Staff of the Month recognition program continues this month, with three new honorees for the month of October. A committee chose from several individuals nominated by staff for their outstanding behavior and positive attitude at school.

October’s Middle School Student of the Month is 8th grader Brooklyn O’Dell, daughter of Rodney and Terri O’Dell. Teachers who nominated Brooklyn reported she has been a positive role model in class, she has been very welcoming to the new students, is very respectful of others, and is active in school activities, showing Dragon Pride! Brooklyn is involved in Football Cheerleading, Choir, and has been involved in gymnastics.

Senior Nate Lynn, son of Brad and Brenda Lynn, is our High School Student of the Month. Nate is an active student, involved in Student Council, Football, Wrestling, and the Fall Play. Nate’s teachers reported the following: “The respect he shows to students and staff is really what sets him apart from many others.  In a very understated way he provides quiet leadership that really speaks to his character and his care for others.  In the classroom he is committed and serves as a strong role model to his fellow students,” and “Nate is a very respectful, responsible, and humble student who is a great role model to younger students in the school. In the classroom, football field, wrestling mat, hallways, in Student Council, on the Homecoming royal court, etc he is always a quiet leader who, without saying much, sets the example of how other students should behave and treat others.

Kim Grussing was chosen as the Staff of the Month for October. Kim works in the Adrian Middle/High School office, as well as coaches Middle School Volleyball. Kim is always willing to help others and does so with a smile. She makes the office a friendly place to stop by when teachers or students need help. She wears many different hats and does a good job with all of them.  As one co-worker said, “Kim is kind, hard working, and respectful of EVERYONE she encounters. She works extremely hard and yet always thinks of others and how she can help us. She is an advocate of administration, teachers, parents, and most of all students. The school could not function without her and she sets an outstanding example for all of us when it comes to how to do a job and how to treat others.”  Kim is married to Rich Grussing, and they have three daughters, Bailey, Brooke, and Autumn.

School-Based Children's Therapeutic Services and Support Minimize
This is a program that has become available to our school through Southwest Mental Health (SWMH). Students K-12 can be referred through Tanya Krueger to receive counseling services through SWMH during school time. Students go through a diagnostic assessment to determine the best starting point for therapy with the counselor from SWMH. Parent permission is needed to make the referral and communication with parents is kept open throughout the process. Please contact Tanya Krueger at the middle/high school or elementary school if you are interested in your child receiving this service.
